LOUISVILLE, KY – A driver was killed when his vehicle was involved in a collision in Louisville early Sunday morning, according to WHAS.
The crash occurred in the 4500 Poplar Level Road in the Newburg neighborhood at about 2:30 a.m. Louisville Metro Police said a driver was making a left turn out of the parking lot of a business when his car was struck by an SUV going the opposite way.
The driver of the first car was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 47-year-old Kevin W. Simpson, Sr. of Louisville.
The driver of the SUV sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, and was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital. No one else was in either vehicle at the time.
The wreck is under investigation by the Louisville Metro Police Department’s Traffic Unit.
