PIKE COUNTY, KY – Two women died after their SUV crashed on a roadway in Pike County last week, Kentucky State Police reported in a news release.
Troopers from Post 9 responded after the single-vehicle collision was reported Wednesday on State Highway 292 East in the Aflex community at 10:17 a.m.
Investigators found that 39-year-old Kimberly Mayhew was driving a 2002 Jeep Liberty on State Highway 292 when the SUV went off the roadway and overturned into a creek. Mayhew and a passenger, 36-year-old Kelli Toney, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Both women were West Virginia residents.
Kentucky State Police are continuing to investigate the fatal wreck.
