LOUISVILLE, KY – A woman was killed and two others were hospitalized following a wrong-way crash on I-65 Saturday.
According to a report by WKLY, a 17-year-old male driver was heading north in the southbound lanes of the freeway near Arthur Street when he slammed head-on into another vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle, 22-year-old Doan Lufti, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she died later on.
Two occupants in Lufti’s vehicle were extricated and transported to University Hospital in critical condition.
The driver responsible for the crash was unhurt. He is currently facing charges including murder, assault, DUI, and wanton endangerment.
The roadway was shut down for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
