GRAYMOOR-DEVONDALE, KY – Police in Graymoor-Devondale say a driver is facing charges in a collision that killed a passenger last month, the Louisville Courier-Journal reports.
27-year-old Joseph Siami has been charged with driving under the influence in connection with the crash that took place Nov. 27 on LaGrange Road near Hurstbourne Parkway at about 2:20 a.m.
Investigators said the driver of one vehicle tried to turn in front of another vehicle, causing the wreck. A passenger in the first vehicle, 20-year-old Chase Lawson of Crestwood, was pronounced dead after being taken to University of Louisville Hospital. Police said two other passengers in that vehicle were also injured, but not critically.
Police said Siami’s blood alcohol content following the crash was found to be above the legal limit.
Lawson was reported to have been a 2020 graduate of South Oldham High School and a sophomore at the University of Kentucky.
