JEFFERSON CO., KY – Two people were killed and two others were hospitalized after a major collision in Jefferson County on Sunday afternoon.
According to WKLY, the incident took place in the northbound lanes of I-65 near the Bullit County Line at about 9:30 a.m.
Responding officers say the driver of the Jeep collided with a semi-truck that was stopped on the shoulder of the freeway. The Jeep then slammed into a second tractor-trailer.
All four occupants in the Jeep were ejected in the crash. Two were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other individuals were rushed to University Hospital with serious injuries.
The identities of those involved remain unclear at this time.
