HARDIN COUNTY, KY – A Kentucky State Police trooper was injured when his police cruiser was struck by another vehicle in Hardin County Sunday night, the News-Enterprise reports.
The collision, which occurred at the intersection of Ring Road and Gaither Station Road, was reported at about 6:10 p.m. Investigators determined that Trooper Cameron Wright of Post 4 was driving on Ring Road when the driver of a Chevrolet Camaro reportedly failed to yield and pulled into the path of his vehicle, causing the crash.
Wright sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. He was treated and released from Baptist Health Hardin. The Camaro driver, 18-year-old Melissa Broadfoot of Cecilia, and her 18-year-old passenger were treated at the scene. Both vehicles involved in the crash were severely damaged.
Kentucky State Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
