SHELBYVILLE, KY – Police in Shelbyville said a man was killed when his vehicle collided with a semi-truck late Tuesday night.
According to WLKY, the incident occurred on the westbound side of Interstate 64 at the 36 mile marker shortly before midnight.
Police said 25-year-old Franklin Hall was driving a Nissan Kicks crossover SUV when he veered out of the left lane into an emergency lane and rear-ended a semi that had pulled over and parked.
Hall, a Lawrenceburg, Kentucky resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was not seriously injured but was taken to the hospital with back pain.
Shelbyville police are investigating the crash and said toxicology tests were done on both drivers.
