COVINGTON, KY – Police in Covington said a pedestrian died in an accident involving a bus on Thursday morning, according to WXIX.
It happened in the vicinity of 4th Street and Scott Street at about 12:30 p.m. Investigators believe a man was jogging in the area when he was struck and killed by a Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky bus. The name of the victim was not released.
According to police, the bus driver did not realize that someone had been hit and kept going after the crash. After speaking to witnesses and reviewing video from the scene, police concluded that a TANK bus was involved. They were able to locate the bus and the driver, and said that the driver was cooperating with the investigation.
Transit authority officials said the bus’s camera system has been turned over to police as part of their investigation.
