LAUREL COUNTY, KY – The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office and local rescue crews were at the scene of a deadly pedestrian accident on US 25 Sunday morning, according to The Times-Tribune.
Investigators said 32-year-old Chadwick Smith was in the northbound lane of US 25 at about 2:21 a.m. when he was hit by a northbound F-250 pickup truck. Smith, a resident of War Branch, was declared dead at the scene.
The pickup driver, 69-year-old Roger Roark of London, was not hurt in the crash.
The sheriff’s office is continuing its investigation into the accident. The roadway was unlit in the area where it happened, authorities said.
