LOUISVILLE, KY – Louisville Metro Police responded to the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident on Interstate 65 Wednesday morning.
According to WHAS, a man was walking on the interstate near the St. Catherine Street exit when he was struck by a northbound vehicle at about 6:40 a.m.
The victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead after being taken to University of Louisville Hospital.
An investigation into the accident is being conducted by the Louisville Metro Police Department Traffic Unit. Police are not anticipating any charges in the case.
I-65 was shut down for over three hours for the crash investigation, and traffic was backed up to the Watterson Expressway interchange.
