LOUISVILLE, KY – Police in Louisville said an SUV and a pickup truck were involved in a fatal crash on Thursday night.
According to WAVE, officers responded to the area of Preston Highway and Cooper Chapel Road after the accident was reported at about 8:15 p.m.
Investigators determined that the driver of the pickup pulling a trailer was making a left turn from Preston Highway onto Cooper Chapel Road when the vehicle was struck by a northbound SUV.
The pickup caught fire and a woman who was a passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup and two occupants of the SUV sustained minor injuries.
The collision is under investigation by the Louisville Metro Police Department’s Traffic Unit.
