JEFFERSON CO., KY – The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has released the identities of the two victims killed in a Sunday afternoon crash along I-65 North.
According to a report by WAVE, the accident occurred when a Jeep slammed into the rear of a semi-truck that had pulled over near Mile Marker 123.
The Jeep then veered back into the roadway, colliding with another northbound vehicle.
Both occupants in the Jeep, Charles Nkumijegusenga, 28, and Tuyisenge Jiriberi, 26, were ejected in the crash. They died from their injuries at the scene.
Two other passengers were hospitalized, one in critical condition. It is unclear if either truck driver sustained injuries in the crash.
