SHELBYVILLE, KY – Three people were killed and two others were injured following a head-on collision on I-64 in Shelbyville on Saturday, the Louisville Daily Journal reports.
The collision happened near milepost 33 of eastbound I-64 at about 7:45 p.m. on June 12. A westbound Chrysler Pacifica crossed into the eastbound lanes, where it collided with a 2011 Chevrolet HHR.
Both drivers died at the scene. A juvenile passenger in the Chrysler was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where she died a short time later.
Emergency responders rushed two other juvenile passengers to area hospitals, where they were listed in serious condition.
